The Priory Country Lodge was originally built in 1848 as a rectory and is located in the village of Bothwell one hour north of Hobart.
The building under went extensive renovation in 2008 and has been refurbished to the very highest standard with under floor heating, lush furnishings and stunning art work amongst the many inclusions. Operating currently as a European-style guesthouse with 4 guest suites in the main house and two newly built architect designed pavilions with extensive views of the Clyde valley.
The main house has many formal and informal rooms and a welcoming country kitchen where tales of fly fishing, eating, resting, golf, walking and whisky sampling are discussed over a glass of wine in the evenings, or a hearty country breakfast.
The opening of MONA has created a buzz and resurgence in visitors coming to Tasmania and wanting a genuine paddock to plate experience.
With the advent of the highly successful Agrarian Kitchen and Red Feather Inn cooking schools, The Priory would also lend itself to a cooking school and farm gate experience OR would also be the perfect country home.
